Early life: Sung-bin grew up in the coastal town of Namhae, South Korea. He moved to Seoul in middle school and later attended Korea National Sports University

Professional background

  • Sung-bin picked up Skeleton racing as a sport in 2012 at the age of 18

  • He won the National Championship in Sept 2012 (after three-month training!) and won his first world gold medal in 2016

  • He won the gold medal at the 2018 Olympics. He is the first South Korean to win Olympic gold in a non-ice skating event
