Early life: Nippert grew up in Ohio, US. He was an American baseball pitcher before moving to South Korea in 2011. In 2011, Nippert signed with Doosan Bears of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO). In 2017, Nippert renewed his contract with Doosan Bears earning $2.1 mn/ year.  Nippert is 2.03 m tall and weighs 100 kg. Nippert is married to a South Korean woman
